Swedish Exhibition-2 : Eggs

Eggs are perhaps the staple of staples – almost everyone in every country, worldwide, eats eggs. They taste good, are healthy for you… but what about the hen? Under what conditions are they produced? All the different labels create sort of a mystery…

In the old days, eggs were regarded a festive food, a must for Midsummer and – above all – Easter. Back then, the hens laid quite a few eggs. Nowadays, with modern food and being kept in “summer light” all year round, the hen lays more than 300 eggs per year.
