German Exhibition-1 : Contributing To The Environment

Contributing to the environment by cultivating your own compost heap

The production of compost has been a long tradition in Germany. By returning organic waste to the natural cycle valuable, cost-effective fertiliser is created. This also stores water and artificial fertilizers can be largely dispensed with. In addition, this means that waste disposal succeeds in the shortest way, while the environment is protected.

Increasing amount of waste in Europe called for a new environmental mindset.

After there were fewer and fewer rural farms, the invention of the British Sir Albert Howard was adopted. He tried to increase the fertility of the soil in India at the beginning of the last century using a method of compost. Nowadays, compost is the most utilised waste treatment method in Europe with the countries of Denmark, Malta, Luxemburg and Germany being the ones using it the most.
